Yamada et Arthur
Hh (A Hauteur d’homme), launched in 2009, is a line of wood furniture designed and made in Montreal using indigenous species like maple and pine. Pure, simple lines are combined with solid construction to create timeless functional pieces. Hh’s elegant collection also reflects the designer’s commitment to social responsibility; some pieces are made by young people learning woodworking skills through social rehabilitation programs. Louis-Philippe obtained a Master’s degree in design from Pforzheim Hochschule (Germany) in 2006. He is currently research assistant at Universite de Montreal’s LabEcoDesign, an R&D center for eco-friendly and socially responsible products, and is also a professor in the university’s industrial design department.
